Visit Dur new home

Last weekend we went to Lisbon to visit Museu Berardo and also to see the exhibitions from Experimenta Design 2009.

We met Dur there and, of course, we had to visit his new home.

He lives in an old building and his home is not very big but it is very comfortable and the view to the bridge is very nice.

There we also met his new cats: Tico and Teco. They are almost identical.

I'm currently reading "Ensaio Sobre a Cegueira" from portuguese writer (and Nobel prize) José Saramago.
I haven't finished it yet but so far i am enjoying a lot.

After the book i am planning to see the movie: "Blindness".

UPDATED: I finished "Ensaio Sobre a Cegueira" yesterday and i loved this book. It was my first one from Saramago and i'm already planning to read others.

Assist to "Moto GP" live

.

After some years dreaming of that, i finally could assist to MOTO GP live from Estoril (Lisboa, Portugal), last 4 October.

Me and A. left our hometown at 4.30 AM and drove about 230Km, with a very bad fog along the entire way.

About 5 minutes after we started our journey, we were stopped by the police, asking for car documents (i never was stopped before...) but everything was ok so we continued our travel without troubles.

When we arrived in Estoril, a lot of people was already there, most of them had slept in their cars or in tents, to guarantee the best parking spot and less queue to enter.

We parked the car in a great place and only walked for 10 minutes.

The queue to enter was not that big and we found a seat without problem.

The fog was still persisted but when the warm up started it began to disappear and all was ok.

The day was great, it was amazing to assist live, to see the rush, listening the engine sound!

It was too bad that Valentino didn't win this race :-( but the important thing is that he won the 2009 championship :-)

Assist live to a surf championship

Kelly Slater

Last weekend (October 24 and 25) i drove to Peniche with A. to assist to "Rip Curl Pro Search 2009".
This is a professional contest with the best surfers (male and female) and they travel around the world searching for the best waves.

Famous names like: Kelly Slater, Taj Burrow or Mick Fanning came to Portugal this year to some amazing days of surf.
And i was there to enjoy it!

The male winner of the competition was Mick Fanning, and the female winner was Coco Ho.

Buy a gift to my sister without a special reason

I love to offer gifts as much as i love to receive them!
This time, while i bought somethings for me from e-bay, i decided to buy something to offer my sister, without a special reason... it isn't christmas or her birthday...
Anyway, everyday is a good day to offer a gift to the someone we love :-)
As this will be a surprise for her i just will show it here when i offer her.
But i can say it is very cute!

So, today my 101/1001 list is 1 year older.

Yay! Happy birthday to this list, and happy birthday to me too, bacause today it is also my birthday :-P

And to celebrate both in the best way possible, after seeing some amazing photo projects, i've decided to start my own "Project 365", a photo a day, from birthday to birthday.

This will be a work in progress, for the next 364 days and you can check the evolution here.

Go to a manicure

For the first time in my life i went to the manicure to get my nails done, for my cousin's wedding.
It was really nice and different from what i am used to do at home... because to paint the right hand myself it is always very difficult...
I guees all the girls have the same problem ;-)

Assist to, at least, one international band show

When i went to Optimus Alive!09 i could complete, not only the goal "Go to a summer festival" but also this one: "Assist to, at least to, one international band show".

So, from all the bands i saw on friday, i will chose Placebo for this post!

PLACEBO

Have a big dinner with all the best friends from the university

.

After a great friday assisting to the amazing shows at Optimus Alive!09, i drove from Lisbon to Caldas da Rainha (the city where i studied at the university) to have a big saturday night dinner, with a lot of my old friends and coleagues.

It was great to see all of them, to know all the news, what are they doing, where are they living, how they look now, 6 years after we finish it.

We all had a nice time together and we decided to have one of these reunion dinners every year, from now on, so i'm looking forward next year to arrive.

Go to a summer festival

.

Last weekend was really productive to complete some goals from this list and also was great to do different things, meet old friends and have a lot of fun.

So for the first time in my life i went to a summer festival.

I went with my friend A.

We went in the second day (friday, July 10) of Optimus Alive!09 and it was really great!

We assisted to many shows but we couldn't assist to all of them that day.

Placebo and The Prodigy were absolutely amazing, The Kooks and Blasted Mechanism were also great!

Unfortunately we cound't assist to The Ting Tings show (because it was happening at the same time than The Prodigy).

I hope next year's bands continue to be great (as they were this and in the past editions of Optimus Alive!) because i'm looking forward to going again!

Taste some food that i think i won't like: OYSTERS

.
Last saturday i had a friend's wedding and this was the perfect ocasion to taste a lot of great food.
Here i could also taste some food that i thought i wouldn't like: oysters.
This was the first time i tasted oysters.
I guess i wouldn't like them because they were not cooked (they were only with lemon), and also because how they looked like, but i had a nice surprise because they tasted well.
They tasted like the ocean :-)

Buy a gift to a friend without a special reason

So, to complete this task i decided to offer a gift to my friend A.
It is not christmas, it is not her bithday or anything else, so to offer her a gift today fits exactly in this goal: "buy a gift to a friend without a special reason".

I bought this nice flexible mini tripod (Gorillapod) from one of my favorite sellers on ebay: Suppere (i also have one of these too).
I guess she will like this gift and i hope she won't come to this blog before tonight and see this post, because i wanted this to be a surprise :-)

Donate things that i don't need

So, last saturday, i decided to start the spring cleaning to my room, especially to my closet.
I had a lot of clothes, shoes, bags and accessories that i don't need/use anymore so i joined all the items that are in good condition (some of them are brand new and never been used before) and i will donate them to a girls orphanage.
I already contacted them and these clothes will be much appreciated and useful to the girls.
I also gave some books i had repeated to my friend A. and i guess they will be much appreciated too.
I am already joining some small toys to send to kids in Africa.

These bags don't look very well but at the time i hadn't other bags...

Travel by tram again

.
In Amsterdam, trams are very popular. We walked a lot but sometimes we also traveled by tram during this trip.

Travel by boat

.
As i wrote before, while i was visiting The Netherlands i could complete other goals from this list.
One of them was to travel by boat.

We did a city cruise in Amsterdam canals in a Blue Boat Company boat, and we could have a unique sight from Amsterdam buildings, bridges, canals and other important monuments.
Our boat was called Byzantium and it was very pleasant because inside it was very warm (outside the weather was very cold that day...)

The day after we went to visit Zaanse Schans (where great Dutch windmills are located) and we had to travel by ferry, so i included that photo too.

Visit The Netherlands

So, one more goal of this list is done: i returned from Amsterdam yesterday!
And while i was visiting The Netherlands, i could also complete other goals from my list.
I am really happy, Amsterdam is an amazing city and i loved to be there, walked a lot and visited many places.
Hope to come back very soon and stay longer!

Buy a Lomo

As a late Christmas gift, from me to me, i finally bought a Lomo "Action Sampler" camera.
It arrived me yesterday from Lomografia Portugal, and i am amazed!
I already started to make some experiences and can't wait to see the results!
When i develop the film i will post some photos here.

Spend a New Year's Eve outside my city

.

Even being sick like hell (with a very strong flu) i spent the 08/09 New Year's Eve (and some days more) at Figueira da Foz, a beach city i like a lot.
I spent a great time there with friends, it was very funny and relaxing, and at midnight the fireworks at the beach were really great!

I don't have any photo of me in this NYE, but the next photos are from Ana Free great concert there, on January 2, 2009.

Yesterday night i finished the organization of the "favourites" in my laptop.
I realized that almost half of the web links i had there were unactive, a lot closed, blogs were deleted and some others decided to change the subject/content of their pages.
My "delicious" files are already organized too, so, from now on, i just have to keep both like that.

Ride a bicycle

After more than 10 years i rode a bicycle again!
It was last saturday (22 November) in the city of Aveiro, where i spent a great weekend with friends.
The city hall has free bicycles and everyone can ride them in the border of the river, where they built some propper bicycle passages.
The bikes are not good but it was a very funny morning!

My yesterday's work till 3AM was to organise and rename ALL my .mp3 files in the computer.
Now i have to maintain it like that :-)

Today i bought not one but two pairs of sunglasses :-)
It was a great promo because the store opened some days ago in my city: the first pair (the Vogue one) costed me the real price and the second pair (the orange/black one) costed only 1€.

First Aid course

I've done my First Aid Course this weekend and i loved it.
I could learn a lot about first aid (of course!) and how to save a life, in case of need.
I also met a lot of interesting people, we shared our stories, and it was a very different weekend and also a great experience!

101 things to do in 1001 days {preparing the list}

I usually start new resolutions when the new year arrives, but this time i decided to do something different, starting in my upcoming birthday.
My goal to my 28.th birthday is to make a "101 things to do in 1001 days" list and try to complete all the items before the deadline is over.
I am now preparing some topics to include and in the 1.st of september i will post it here.
I will try, as much as i can, to post photos of all the things i've done from the list.

Day Zero - the home of the 1001 Day Project

The idea: To complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined.
Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
